On October 9, 2007, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released proposed FY 2005 wage data which will be the basis for computing the FY 2009 area wage index. OR_wage09_data_Oct07_release.xls contains the preliminary wage and hours data for Oregon hospitals.

Hospitals should review this data and submit any requests for revisions and supporting documentation to their fiscal intermediaries or Medicare administrative contractors by December 7, according to the FY 2009 wage index development timetable. The timetable, preliminary Worksheet S-3 wage data from FY 2005 cost reports, and files with preliminary first quarter, second quarter and six-month Calendar Year 2006 occupational mix survey data are available on the CMS website.
