What is OHPAC?

OHPAC is the Oregon Hospital Political Action Committee. Founded in 1982, OHPAC is a non-profit, non-partisan, membership-based organization. Our mission is to help elected officials and candidates understand the importance of maintaining a strong community-based hospital and health care system in Oregon.

OHPAC seeks to foster a common understanding of the important roles Oregon hospitals and health systems play, both as community health advocates and as essential employers within the communities they serve.

OHPAC members provide grassroots and financial help to legislative candidates and office holders who demonstrate a commitment to Oregon’s community hospital system.

Why Should You Join OHPAC?

  • OHPAC membership is an effective way to participate in the health care policy decisions of concern to your community.

  • Your knowledge of the issues, your willingness to advocate for quality health care, and your support of good candidates who also believe in quality health care are examples of how your OHPAC membership can encourage responsible government action.

  • By joining like-minded individuals as an OHPAC member, you help provide a stronger voice for hospital and health care concerns than does any single voice.

  • Every single membership is important because it is through our collective efforts that we can best shape the legislative agenda for health care.
