REGULATORY UPDATE

Oregon OSHA has adopted the federal OSHA amendments published in January 18, 2001 for Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

New requirements for employers: Employers must ensure that exposure control plans:

Oregon also adopted Oregon specific provisions that provide for greater employee input and training in the use of safer medical devices. See, OAR 437-002-1030

Sharps Injury Log: Oregon also requires employers to establish and maintain a contaminated sharps injury log. See, OAR 437-002-1035 for more details.
