OAHHS Launches Hospitals4Health, a Patient-Centered Quality Program

The Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) has launched its new patient-centered quality program, Hospitals4Health, including the new website hospitals4health.org.
Hospitals4Health.org is a web location to tell the hospital story, with an emphasis on hospital quality efforts, in an understandable, patient-friendly manner. Oregon's community hospitals are committed to working together to produce high-quality patient care to all the patients that access their services. Our mission is to share best-practices, work across boundaries, and create a safe and transparent environment for effective clinical change and improvement. Hosptials4Health has a patient-centered focus on delivering high-quality care to all who seek it.
The focus of Hospitals4Health:
- Hospitals in Oregon care about all aspects of quality
- Hospitals4Health is a central brand to showcase the proactive work around quality of Oregon's 58 community hospitals
- Hospitals4Health highlights the collaborative quality efforts of OAHHS and its stakeholders to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes for Oregon hospital patients
- Patients need to know what is being done for them in plain language - Hospitals4Health is an understandable place to learn
Modeled from the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) six quality aims, Hospitals4Health has aligned its patient-centered projects and initiatives with this framework: care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered.
"We know that patients judge health care providers not only on clinical outcomes, but on their ability to be compassionate and deliver excellent, patient-centered care," said Diane Waldo, Director of Quality & Clinical Services and leader of the Hospitals4Health initiative. "Oregon hospitals are dedicated to delivering the finest care - it is the guiding principle behind all the work we do in the state. Hospitals4Health is dedicated to the patient. Our mission is to go beyond medical jargon and to offer insight into the care that Oregon hospitals provide."
